Georgia baseball plays 33 home, 22 road and one neutral site game in 2025. The Bulldogs will try to build upon a season that saw them advance past the Regional round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008.
Georgia will begin its 2025 season on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) with a four-game series at UNC Wilmington. The Bulldogs hosted the Seahawks last year in the NCAA Athens Regional, where they won 11-2 in the winner’s bracket.
The Bulldogs then travel to Kennesaw State on Feb. 18 before their home-opening series on Thursday, Feb. 20. Georgia will debut an upgraded Foley Field in its four-game series against the University of Illinois Chicago, who finished 35-20 last season.
After their home-opener, the Bulldogs will play at Georgia State on Wednesday, Feb. 29, where they won 15-0 last year. Georgia then returns home with a four game series against Florida Gulf Coast that spans three days.
The 13-game home stand continues from there with the Bulldogs’ first midweek matchup in Athens coming on Tuesday, March 4 against High Point. Georgia will host Georgia State on Wednesday, March 5 and then Columbia the following weekend.
On Tuesday, March 11, the Bulldogs will play ETSU in a home tune-up before conference play begins on March 14 against Kentucky. The Bulldogs traveled to Lexington, Kentucky to begin their SEC schedule last season, and in 2025, the Wildcats will return the favor with a three-game series.
Georgia pulled Nick Ammirati from Kentucky’s staff last season, as well as gaining outfielder Nolan McCarthy from the transfer portal.
Coach Wes Johnson said Ammirati is a “little more quieter” than him, but the former Kentucky assistant is “always looking for something to make a player better.” McCarthy has already endeared himself to the Bulldogs, as he was one of the captains for the team’s Fall World Series.
After its matchup with Kentucky, Georgia will travel to Florida for a three-game series beginning on March 21. The Bulldogs and Gators typically play a fall scrimmage, but renovations to Foley Field prohibited Georgia from playing opposing teams this offseason.
Both teams will be missing a key player from their 2024 rosters, as Charlie Condon and Jac Caglianone — who combined for 72 home runs last season — were both selected top-six in the 2024 MLB Draft.
Georgia returns home on March 25 for a midweek matchup with West Georgia. The Bulldogs will then host Auburn on March 28-30 and Queens University of Charlotte on Tuesday, April 1.
From there, Georgia will travel to Texas for three games against Jim Schlossnagle’s Longhorns. Three players, including shortstop Kolby Branch, will be playing in their home state.
After a Tuesday game with Presbyterian, Georgia will host Arkansas. The Razorbacks were the No. 1 team late last season but had an early exit in their Regional.
On April 15, the Bulldogs will play Georgia Tech in Truist Park, home of the Braves. The in-state rivals are on bitter terms after last year’s game in Atlanta — that Georgia led 9-3 with three outs to go before becoming official — was suspended due to rain and never made up.
Georgia and Georgia Tech also played one of the most-memorable games in program history last season, with Georgia winning 8-6 in 10 innings to advance to the Super Regional and end the Yellow Jackets’ postseason run.
The Bulldogs travel to face who Corey Collins called the “Yankees of college baseball” on April 17, with a three game series against Vanderbilt. Georgia will then play at Clemson on Tuesday night in a rematch of last season’s 15-inning game.
The Bulldogs will host reigning Big 12 regular season champion Oklahoma on April 24-29. The game will feature a pair of siblings, as Branch’s younger brother Kyle is a freshman infielder for the Sooners.
From there, Georgia will host Kennesaw State on April 29 before going on a six-game road trip to Missouri and Alabama. The Bulldogs pulled former Crimson Tide closer Alton Davis II from the transfer portal this offseason. Johnson said the team is stretching him out as a starter.
Georgia’s regular season will end with a marquee matchup, as College World Series runner up Texas A&M comes to Foley Field on May 15. The Aggies are under new leadership with Schlossnagle leaving for Texas but still possess a talented roster.
The postseason will follow from there, with the SEC Tournament, NCAA Regionals, NCAA Super Regionals and the College World Series set to span from May 20 to June 23.
